What do I need to do to file for office?

IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN FILING AS A CANDIDATE YOU MUST DO THE FOLLOWING:

On this day all candidates must file in person at the Village Clerk’s office the following documents required by law for certification of candidacy:

1.   A declaration of candidacy (form provided by the Village Clerk) and;

2.   A certified copy of the candidate's current affidavit of voter registration on file with the Bernalillo County Clerk.  The affidavit must be certified by the Bernalillo County Clerk on a date not earlier than the adoption of the Election Resolution.

3.   All affidavits of voter registration must show the candidate’s current residential address as a street address or rural route number and not as a post office box. 

VOTER REGISTRATION

In order to vote in the Village Election, you must be registered to vote.  If you have moved into the Village of Los Ranchos or moved to another area in the Village, please change your registration to the correct address. 

Please do not wait until the deadline has passed.  If you have not registered with the Bernalillo County Clerk you may do so in person or by calling the Bernalillo County Clerk at 468-1290 or Village Clerk 344-6582 and a form will be mailed to you.

VOTER REGISTRATION

If you have moved into the Village, moved just down the street or another area in the village and have not changed your voter registration you may pick up a form at the Village Hall or call 344-6582 and a form will be mailed to you.  You can also call the Bernalillo County Clerk at 468-1290.  If you do not remember where you were last registered you can call 468-1290.
