Things To Do
So much to do and so little time.......

Los Ranchos de Albuquerque
runs along the Rio Grande Bosque providing a variety of outdoor activities for the whole family in a beautiful nature filled setting with the Sandia Mountains always in view.

Not exactly the athletic type? How about an afternoon hunting for that special object d'art or antique heirloom, then taking a relaxing massage or mud bath break with a wine tasting finale?  Kids getting antsy? Tour the area to spot interesting animals (llamas, goats, peacocks, Canadian Geese).

There is something for everybody...take some time to enjoy our
Oasis in the Desert!

Hiking/Bicycling/Rollerblading -There are wonderful trails along the Rio Grande (both dirt and asphalt) for outdoor activities of all kinds. The bike trails connect with many city trails allowing for long distance or short scenic biking. Rio Grande Boulevard is a favorite roadway for bikers who want to take in all the sights along our beautiful road. You can rent bicycles at nearby Rio Mountainsport (1210 Rio Grande Blvd NW, 505-766-9970).

Hikers (or bikers) can start at the Rio Grande Nature Center (Candelaria) with an informative tour and go all the way to Alameda Blvd. Wildlife and botanical delights are abundant. We also have numerous acequias and ditch banks running through the Village to keep your scenery interesting. And don't forget the jogging paths at Hartnett Park next to the Village Hall.

Horseback Riding - Horses are everywhere in the Village and are allowed not only on the trails described above, but share our roadways. Our speed limits on Rio Grande and Guadalupe Trail are lower than our neighbors to allow for safe travel by everyone. We also have several stables and horseback riding schools offering Summer Day Camps, riding lessons and fun activities for all. Try Liz Sanchez Training Stables at 7622 Rio Grande Blvd. NW (505-898-1810).
