Los Ranchos Growers' and

Arts/Crafts Holiday Markets

Tennis Court Parking Lot 

6718 Rio Grande Blvd NW 

Sat., March 13th, 10 a.m. - 12 noon  

Girl Scout cookie lovers:   Brownie Troop #59, with representative students from Los Ranchos, Alvarado, Alameda, Mountain Mahogany, and the North Valley Academy, will be on hand to sell you the famous cookies!  Yum!

Magda, Los Ranchos 4-H member and State Fair prize winner, will have brown-egg laying pullets for sale. 

In honor of St. Pat's Day, Chef Randy Shamlian will be sampling Almond Current Irish Scones!  Pick up a copy of his great recipe and other March recipes.   

Great time of the year to get eggs since the hens are laying now! 

Greenhouses and season extenders are working this year:  Growers will have a good selection of tender greens, veggies, plants and plant starts!

Market tables may have a great selection of seasonal greens and other delicious items:Salad mix, stir-fry greens mix, wild arugula mix, pepper cress, pak choy, collards, swiss chard, mustard greens, kale, spinach, micro greens, mushrooms, kohlrabi, radishes, carrots, turnips, eggs, jams/jellies, pies, Los Osos honey, galettes, scones, biscotti, tartlets, mini-quiche, home-made granola, vegetable and herb starts, house plants, fresh herbs, dried herbs, culinary herbal mixes, dried flower arrangements, burritos, pastries & hot pasole, and more! 

Arts and Crafters will feature creative and unique gifts including: Colorful yard art made from recycled materials: bird houses, walking canes, windchimes, benches, steel flowers. Wide variety of jewelry, spa soaps, lotions and candles.  Original T-shirts, women and little girl clothing, handbags; scarves that are knitted, tie-dyed or embroidered. Traditional tin work, decorative and functional pottery, tiles, carved gourds, stained glass, watercolors, mosaic tables. Greeting cards, origami, detailed paper-cuts; all handmade by NM artists.  

WINTER MARKETS:Winter Markets are the 2nd Sat. of each month, December - April, from 10 am - noon.   

April 10 :  Last winter market, 10 am - noon 

May 1:  Regular season begins, 7 - 11 am.  

May special event highlights: May 1:  Season opens, National Herb Day:  Guest chef Jeffrey Lee (Hand to Mouth), and experts:  Elaine DeFredrico (growing and using herbs), Erich & Patricia von Schultze (herb growing/herb blends) and Mia Maes (cooking with herbs, herb blends) 

May 15: Wild Alaska Salmon & Greens guest chef, Kenny the Fishhugger 

 

PLEASE NOTE:  Markets will be held outdoors unless there is bad weather and then the markets will be in the community barn.
