I feel very honored and privileged
to serve as the Mayor of Los Ranchos de Albuquerque. We have, without
question, one of the nicest villages in New Mexico. Nestled between
the City of Albuquerque and Rio Rancho, our Village is unique in
maintaining its pristine rural atmosphere. The Rio Grande Boulevard
and Guadalupe Trail corridors are treasures that must be preserved,
not only for our Village, but also for the State of New Mexico.
The Village of Los Ranchos is the 33 rd largest municipality in
the State. We are larger in population than Taos, three times larger
than Moriarty or Edgewood, and eleven times larger than Chama!
In order to maintain our
identity and independence, I feel we must create the perception
that there is value not only in our name, but also in doing business
within the Village. During my term as Mayor, I will work hard to
create and maintain an identifiable image for the Village. I will
ask all residents and businesses to join me in using the full name
'Los Ranchos de Albuquerque' as often as possible, including in
addresses, on business stationery and cards, and in all advertising.
I assure you all that my
administration will have in place a fiscally responsible budget,
and will always use public funds wisely and efficiently. I will
maintain an open line of communication to ALL residents. We have
created the monthly Village Vision to keep our residents informed,
while promoting the Village's restaurants and businesses. We will
continue to keep our web site as current as possible with agendas
for future meetings, as well as minutes of previous meetings. We
will maintain a calendar current for all upcoming events.
My administration will try
at all times to uphold the spirit and integrity of the 2010 Master
Plan. As a businessman, I would like to increase the recurring monthly
gross receipts from our Village businesses, and decrease our dependence
on new construction gross receipts. I will work hard at stimulating
the economy within the Village, and to that end, I am urging the
formation of a Los Ranchos de Albuquerque Chamber of Commerce, which
is now in the planning stage. I encourage all our Village businesses,
including our many home occupation licensees, to take an interest
in and join the Chamber. It will provide many advantages for all
its members, and will help spread the word that Los Ranchos de Albuquerque
is a great place to do business.
